ELGAR team is made up of leaders in their respective fields, with documented records of accomplishments. Partners are experienced in the production and exploitation of quality reproductible and industrially relevant research results. Currently gravity has been measured in laboratories at < 10-9 g level. Some products are already commercials and a few sold worldwide. AI based gravimeters developed in companies, laboratories and quantum hubs start not only to compete, but surpass the best absolute gravimeters.
• For instance, Muquans, a company founded in 2012 as a spin-off of IOGS and CNRS, employs 25 people to manufacture and commercialize quantum sensors based on laser-cooled atoms for use in geophysics, metrology and laser optics.
• AtomSensors, a spin-off company of the University of Florence founded in 2015, produce atomic sensors, optical clocks and atom optics components for research, geophysics and space applications.
• The University of Birmingham which is leading a node of the UK Quantum Hub and is at the origin of the atom interferometer developed by the company MSquared Lasers.
Industrial partnerships will be made in fields of application of ELGAR techniques for quantum computing, communication or instruments. Companies will bring new compact sensors, transportable gravimeters, atomic clocks and navigation systems around 5 years after completion of the project.
